At Andy Whittaker Photography we like to create special images for you to treasure for years to come. Most people that come to us buy a session experience voucher and then decide whether to purchase more images when they come to look at the images. This is the standard way in which most portrait photographers work. We offer an alternate service which we call ‘Commissioned Portraits’.
Rather than just turning up for your shoot on the day with a bag full of clothes and no idea of the product you would like to take home, everything about the shoot (cost, what to wear, what style of shoot, what product, which wall the finished image will reside on) is taken care of prior to the shoot itself. In a similar way to a wedding photographer a commissioned portrait would require a consultation before the shoot where we can go through everything including where the final image would be hung and in which frame style and size, the overall style of the image, and then how much this would cost.
Once we have agreed on a price and the details a deposit of £150 towards the cost is paid upfront and the balance when you place your order at the viewing. The benefit of this is you know exactly what to expect and there are no additional costs. The viewing appointment becomes a design session where you can enjoy creating the finished pieces for your home. Commissioned Portraits also have a specially discounted packages for multiple wall pieces that are not available on a normal preview, we also including free delivery to your home once the products are created within a 15 mile radius.
HOW IT WORKS
First we arrange a home consultation where we will go through your ideas with you and also look at where you would like to put your portrait. We then give you our recommendation for sizes and style of product that we think would suite your home. We can then go through the type and style of portrait that best fits your family. You are welcome to suggest any style or image that you may have seen before and I will do my best to create something in that style for you.
Once we have agreed on image type, style of product and cost we take a £150 deposit towards the agreed amount and then book you in for your shoot. On the day of your shoot we can use the full appointment time to get straight into enjoying shooting your images. At the end of the shoot we will get you booked in for your viewing session where you will see the final edited images that we will use for your pre-designed wall art.
This way of booking a portrait shoot may not be what you are used to but it is without a doubt the most effective as the photographer will know exactly what type of shots will suit your home and your family. A commissioned shoot is perfect for those of you that are seriously into your home design and are looking for something personal to fill the wall. Buying a piece of art for the wall is great but having your own created can be amazing and will be something to treasure.
As I said earlier it’s a very similar process to how a wedding photographer works so I’m sure a lot of you will be familiar with this style of consultation and shoot.
